Rehabilitation
Our rehabilitation nurses hold qualifications across the breadth of nursing from general to specific fields such as mental health disorders and oncology. We also have a case management team that includes nurses who are experienced in occupational issues, employment law, business need and disability in relation to the workplace.
The nurses carry out assessments of an employees’ health and take into account all psychosocial factors that have an impact on individuals functioning in both their work and personal lives.
The nurses can provide a report on the presenting condition and how to move the individual forward with the ultimate goal being job retention. Case management involves seeking supporting specialist information from our wide portfolio of medical specialists and the provision of appropriate treatment if required. Our team closely monitors an individual throughout the sickness absence, building rapport, reviewing progress, encouraging return to work goals and promoting good communication to facilitate a return to work.
This service is available to employers and insurers alike for the management of
difficult cases back to work. Rehabilitation makes good financial sense –
companies invest in people and our philosophy is that it is wasteful to have
highly qualified and motivated staff leave through incapability procedures or
early ill health retirement if this is cost effectively avoidable.
