Highlights from our 2025 Occupational Health Technician Conference!

28/02/25 – Blog, Community, Company News

We’re excited to share the highlights of our recent Occupational Health Technician conference which was held on Thursday, January 30th, and Friday, January 31st, at the Best Western NEC Birmingham.

These events are a brilliant way for our Occupational Health Technicians to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and innovations. Plus, they’re a great opportunity to have some fun and connect with colleagues!

What was the purpose of the conference?

The main aim was to ensure all our OH technicians are up to date with the latest developments and best practices in the industry, enhancing their professional growth to deliver the best service to our clients and patients. We also use the conference to ensure all our health surveillance equipment is in top-notch condition. Regular checks and maintenance are key to delivering the highest quality service and keeping our operations running smoothly!

In true Medigold Health fashion, the conference also provided a perfect setting for some good old-fashioned mingling! It allowed our technicians to meet colleagues from different locations, bond, share stories, and truly feel part of the Medigold family.

Who was it aimed at? And what was involved?

The conference was tailor-made for our Occupational Health Technicians, with our Health Surveillance team leading the way. They provided updates on the latest industry practices, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in occupational health.

We kicked off with a warm welcome from Israr Ahmed, our Health Surveillance Director. The agenda was packed with a comprehensive Health Surveillance review presented by our clinical lead Dominic Gonzales, with Hayley Betteridge and Lizzie Heyes then delving into the world of Audiology, Spirometry, HAVS, Blood pressure and Airside Driver medicals.

But don’t worry, we made sure to add some fun to the mix with an exciting quiz and a delicious dinner! Everyone had a great time bonding and enjoying the evening together.

Was the conference a success?

Absolutely! Our conferences are always a huge success, offering a valuable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Check out the highlights in the video on the right!

Our technicians left the conference buzzing with new knowledge and confidence in the latest industry advancements and best practices. It was also a fantastic chance for team bonding, helping to build those essential support networks that are so important in our field.

What did everyone think about the conference?

Israr Ahmed, Medigold Health’s Health Surveillance Director, commented:

“I always look forward to the OHT conference each year; it’s a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, both old and new. This year, we shared valuable clinical updates on standards and best practices, which are crucial for our ongoing development. The team-building exercises, vehicle inspections and repairs, equipment calibration, and PAT testing were also integral parts of the event. These activities not only enhance our technical skills but also strengthen our team bonds, ensuring we continue to deliver the highest quality of service.”

– Israr Ahmed, Health Surveillance Director

Until next year!
