Medigold Matters Podcast - Prevention is better than cure
Episode three of our Medigold Matters podcast has just dropped!
In this instalment, host John Griff talks with Consultant Occupational Physician Dr Kent Haworth, who has recently joined Medigold Health to lead our team of OHPs in the Southeast and London.
During an insightful interview which touches on his background in the Royal Army Medical Corps and his experience working in General Practice, Dr Haworth discusses a diverse range of topics, from the positive influence that military medicine has had in advancing medical science and practice to the importance of vaccination programmes for protecting public health and the challenges of supporting an aging workforce in a country deemed one of the unhealthiest in Europe in the absence of any truly joined up approach to healthcare.
He also explores the old adage, “prevention is better than cure”, arguing the important role that employers have in helping to reduce the burden on our chronically over-stretched NHS, particularly when it comes to providing access to rehabilitation and mental health support. Finally, he addresses the question of whether businesses can really afford not to be investing in quality occupational health services.
It’s a fascinating listen and you can tune in right now below or via our Spotify account, where you can also catch up on any episodes you may have missed!
So go on, grab a cuppa, sit back and have a listen.
