Train Driver Medicals are a mandatory requirement for all professional train drivers.
Medigold Health offer a wide range of safety critical medicals for new-entrant drivers and existing employees, adhering to the EU Licensing directives, Railway Group standards and ORR guidance for best-practice.
Our testing protocols include both Drug & Alcohol screening and resting electrocardiogram (ECG) for employees over the age of 40 (who are clinically at higher risk of heart disease).

Why a Train Driver Medical?
As per the Railway Group Standard, and to help protect the health of Train Drivers and other rail-related employees who are exposed to obvious and potential hazards to health, we offer a number of rail-specific examinations reflecting the safety-critical nature of the work and the time-bound return to work processes that are so important to TOC productivity.
These include:
- Train Drivers TDLCR 2010
- Train Movement RIS-3452-TOM
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) medicals for rail, engineering or construction workers operating on or near active railway lines
- Signal Passed at Dange
- Resumption of Duty Medical
- Special Exam/Report
Outcomes in line with your requirements
We know that the rail industry has certain preferences in relation to the speed of outcome notifications following an
occupational health appointment, and we operate a clinically robust yet rapid turnaround service, which provides our rail clients, with Fit for Work (F1, F2, U1, U2) assessment outcomes within a very short window.
Rail Industry Recognised
Medigold Health are accredited by the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) for the delivery of our rail medicals and Drug and Alcohol testing.
