Workplace Adjustments

Helping you unlock employee talent and create an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive

Workplace adjustments services – Why they’re important in the workplace

With the UK experiencing record numbers of vacancies and labour shortages expected to rise further in the next few years, businesses need to be doing all they can to attract and retain talented employees in an increasingly competitive recruitment market.

That means recruiting and supporting a more diverse workforce.

Given that 1 in 5 of the working-age population are classed as disabled, and that one of the key barriers to disabled people staying in the workplace is a lack of appropriate support, taking steps to better accommodate workers with disabilities or long-term health conditions is crucial.

Disabled employees can have a hugely positive impact on an organisation and its culture, bringing different perspectives and skills that can help to drive innovation, creativity and engagement and boost the performance, reputation and success of your business. By introducing the right adjustments and enabling them to work in a way that suits their needs, you can help them to stay in work, perform at their best and maximise their potential, for the benefit of all

What are workplace adjustments?

Workplace adjustments are changes that an employer makes to enable an employee to overcome a health- or disability-related barrier at work. These changes can include the provision of costed support, such as specialist equipment or assistive technology software, as well as any training, coaching or adaptations to a role, which can often be introduced at little to no cost.

    What we offer

    Workplace needs assessment

These holistic assessments are undertaken by our qualified assessors. Working with both the employee and line manager, in a single, comprehensive assessment they will explore all the health or disability barriers currently impeding successful and sustainable employment and provide you with a comprehensive report that:

    • identifies the specific support needs of the individual
    • outlines the workplace adjustment solutions recommended to remove any barriers to work and allow their talent to flourish
    • equips your managers with the information they need to be able to support the employee in effectively managing their disability or health condition in the workplace.

    Case management

Building on from the workplace needs assessment, our non-clinical case management service supports you and your employees end-to-end, helping you to ensure that any recommended workplace adjustments are implemented effectively and providing you with any training required.

    Procurement and funding support

Should you also require additional support with sourcing any recommended equipment, assistive software or other services, we can help. As we aren’t affiliated with a specific supplier, we will always recommend the most cost-effective solution to suit yours and your employees’ requirements.
